Mariupol port. Ice conditions 10.01.19

Due to current weather conditions which contribute ice forming, snow, stable temperatures below zero degrees at night, winds of the north-eastern direction in the coastal zone of the Azov Sea, including the northern Taganrog Gulf, there is the beginning of ice formation.

The port aquatory is covered with thin crashed ice, the fields of young ice are observed on the approach channel of the port from 0 km to 12 km, followed by clear water.

As of January 10, 2019, the ice campaign on the Mariupol Sea Port HAS NOT been announced, but all relevant services and the fleet are fully prepared for its possible start. Icebreaker "Captain Belousov", which was put into operation after December 1, 2018 after planned repair, as well as ice classed tugs "Captain Markin" and "Captain Merkulov" are ready to provide icebreaking convoys.
